A creative Halloween dish featuring ear-shaped ravioli filled with ground beef and ricotta, served in a homemade marinara sauce.

Ingredients

  • Homemade pasta (or store-bought)
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 ½ cups homemade marinara sauce (or jarred)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough: Begin by preparing your homemade pasta dough (or use store-bought). Roll it out to your desired thickness, ideally about 1/16 inch thick.
  2. Cook the beef: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef, cooking it until browned. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Be sure to drain excess grease.
  3. Mix the filling: In a bowl, combine the cooked beef with ricotta cheese. Stir well until fully mixed and set aside.
  4. Cut and shape the pasta: Cut the rolled-out pasta into strips. Use a small round cutter, glass, or ravioli mold to cut out circles. Place a teaspoon of the beef and ricotta mixture in the center of each circle.
  5. Seal the ravioli: Moisten the edges of each pasta circle with water, fold them over to create pockets, and press the edges firmly to seal.
  6. Make the sauce: In a pot, simmer your marinara sauce over low heat to warm it up. Add a little salt if needed.
  7. Cook the ravioli: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the ravioli and cook until they float to the surface (about 3-4 minutes). Drain carefully.
  8. Combine and serve: Gently toss the drained ravioli in the marinara sauce. Serve on plates with a drizzle of olive oil on top.

Notes

Avoid overfilling the ravioli, ensure edges are sealed well, and use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
