A flavorful dish bringing the taste of the Middle East to your kitchen, perfect for gatherings or quick weeknight meals.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 lb chicken (for grilling or bowls)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, mix together the cumin, paprika, cinnamon, ginger, oregano, turmeric, lemon juice, and honey. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, making sure they are well coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight for a more robust flavor.
  3. Preheat the Grill: Set your grill to medium-high heat to ensure that the chicken gets a nice char while cooking.
  4. Grill the Chicken: Place the marinated chicken on the grill, cooking for 6-8 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before serving it in a pita, over hummus, or on a salad.

Notes

For a vegan option, substitute honey with maple syrup or omit it for a low-sugar alternative. Marinate chicken longer for enhanced flavor.
