A whimsical twist on classic meatloaf, made to resemble mummies, perfect for Halloween festivities.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey/chicken)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 12 slices black olives
  • 12 small mozzarella balls

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the meatloaf ingredients in a large bowl until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Prepare the crescent roll dough by cutting it into thin strips.
  5. Wrap the strips around the meatloaf, leaving gaps for the ‘eyes’.
  6. Add mozzarella balls and olive slices for the eyeballs.
  7. Bake for 1 hour, until the meat reaches 160°F (70°C).
  8. Rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Avoid overmixing the meatloaf mixture to keep it tender. Use a meat thermometer for perfect doneness.
