A delightful dish featuring juicy chicken thighs with a crispy caramelized glaze, combining smoky and sweet flavors.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil (or any neutral oil)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried mustard
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce, plus more for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade in a large sealable container by adding chicken thighs, avocado oil, kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and dried mustard. Toss until coated.
  2. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Coat the chicken thighs with 1/4 cup of BBQ sauce and transfer to the lined baking sheet, discarding excess sauce.
  4. Bake for 15 minutes, then flip the thighs, brush with reserved BBQ sauce, and bake for another 10 minutes.
  5. Broil for 5-6 minutes, brushing with BBQ sauce again, until crispy and cooked through.
  6. Serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side, if desired.

Notes

Allow the chicken to marinate for deeper flavor absorption. Monitor closely while broiling to avoid burning.
