This easy Crockpot BBQ Pulled Chicken recipe delivers rich, savory flavors perfect for any gathering or family dinner. Versatile and delicious, it’s great on buns, in tacos, or over rice.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 1/4 cups barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup Italian dressing
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Slow Cooker: Lightly spray the inside of your crockpot with non-stick cooking spray or line it with disposable liners for easy cleanup.
  2. Season the Chicken: Season the trimmed boneless, skinless chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Place them in the bottom of the crockpot.
  3. Mix the Sauce: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, light brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Whisk until well blended.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the chicken breasts. Cover the crockpot with its lid.
  5. Cook the Chicken: Cook on high for 150 minutes (2.5 hours) or low for 360 minutes (6 hours). Check the chicken with a meat thermometer to ensure it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  6. Shred and Serve: Once fully cooked, you can either serve the chicken whole or use two forks to shred it directly in the crockpot to soak up the remaining sauce. Serve it on buns for BBQ pulled chicken sandwiches or as desired!

Notes

Ensure to check the temperature and don’t overcrowd the crockpot for even cooking. Customize the sauce to your liking for different flavors.
