Cake pops are delightful bite-sized treats that add a whimsical touch to any celebration. Easy to make and fully customizable, they are perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 box of cake mix (any flavor)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 can of frosting (any flavor)
  • Candy melts (various colors)
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Sprinkles or decorations (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven and bake the cake according to the package instructions. Let it cool completely before moving on.
  2. Crumble the cooled cake into fine pieces in a large bowl.
  3. Add the frosting to the crumbled cake. Stir until fully combined and the mixture is moldable.
  4. Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Freeze the cake pop balls for about 30 minutes to help them hold their shape when dipped.
  6. Melt the candy melts according to package instructions until smooth.
  7. Dip the end of a lollipop stick into the melted candy for better adherence.
  8. Insert the lollipop stick into a cake pop ball, ensuring it goes in about halfway.
  9. Dip each cake pop into the melted candy until fully coated, allowing excess to drip off.
  10. Decorate with sprinkles or your favorite toppings while the candy coating is still wet.
  11. Place the decorated cake pops upright in a Styrofoam block or cake pop stand until the coating is set.

Notes

Choose a cake mix and frosting that complement each other for the best flavor. Work quickly when dipping the pops so the candy coating doesn’t harden before decorating.
